Head Teachers Event
29th April 2008 – HEAD TEACHERS AND ARTS DIRECTORS RECEPTION
This event is the beginning of a journey between schools and the Cultural Quarter
towards a greater creative dialogue. The event was a great success with over 200 guests attending,
representing 80 schools from Lambeth and Southwark and 22 Cultural Quarter organisations.
What did the teacher’s say??
Stella Jennings – Head of Art and Design, Charles Edward Brooke, Lambeth
“SOWF event was very enjoyable, excellent catering and views too! I met a couple of interesting people, one lady
from the Tate Modern who I have not had a chance to chase up and make contact with but it's GCSE Art time now…and a Head Teacher of primary school near us so that was useful”
Jane Giles – Head Teacher, Bessemer Grange, Southwark
“Just to say thank you very much for yesterday. Not only was the event informative and great for networking
but we also really enjoyed the Royal Philharmonic concert.
Irene Bishop – Head Teacher, St Saviour’s and St Olave’s, Southwark
“This is great - thank you so much for the organisation. I know that many heads were
very appreciative of the event. Others have contacted me to ask how they get involved because they missed it.”
